The Barthelmes Conservatory's Music School division welcomes you to a unique and challenging program designed to guide and assist you toward your musical goals.
The Music School
mission is to promote artistic and academic excellence and to prepare
musicians of highest quality.
The School offers specialized and professional training and a comprehensive curriculum which includes instrument instruction, music theory, history, and ensemble/orchestra taught by experienced faculty. Attendance at a variety of musical events, concerts and performances is also a vital part of the holistic music curriculum. All students at the School receive full merit-based scholarships.
The students attend the Music School twice weekly, and the classes are conducted during the afternoon and evening hours, after the regular school day. The Music School is a year - long program. The classes start in September and end in May. The Academic Year in the Music School is comprised of two semesters: Fall (September - December) and Spring (January – May).
The Music School curently offers specialization in the following instruments: piano, violin, viola, cello and bass. We follow students’ progress through practice books, Closed, Studio and Open Concerts, assessments and portfolio documentation.
Each year, the Conservatory awards 20 – 25 scholarships. The scholarship covers the cost of instruction, instruments (strings only), materials, supplies, and other direct expenditures relevant to the Music School curriculum. The Music School offers a seven-year program and prepares students for admission to the college music major.
