Music Center Division of the Barthelmes Conservatory strives to provide music
education to enhance quality of lives and to promote aesthetic, musical, emotional and creative potentials regardless of ability and age.
Music Center is non-selective, flexible and designed for community members who desire to pursue music education for personal enrichment. 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute individual lessons with Master or Junior faculty members are offered for students of ages six through senior adults.
Individual lessons are available on piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, drums, flute, voice, jazz piano and jazz improvisation. Individual lessons will allow the student to experience a one-on-one atmosphere with the instructor.
TUITION FOR INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
JUNIOR FACULTY
30 min. lesson ($15 each) - $210 for 14 week semester
45 min. lesson ($22.5 each) - $315 for 14 week semester
60 min. lesson ($30 each) - $420 for 14 week semester
MASTER FACULTY
30 min. lesson ($25 each) - $350 for 14 week semester
45 min. lesson ($37.5 each) - $525 for 14 week semester
60 min. lesson ($50 each) - $700 for 14 week semester
Emphasis is based upon the student's individually-paced development, and repertoire is selected to fit the student's needs and ability. A student may choose to have a Closed Concert evaluation and get a feedback from the jury at the end of the semester. All students are encouraged to perform in the Open Concerts, and attend Conservatory events and masterclasses. Free trial lesson may be requested. Payment plans are available.
Conservatory's Master Faculty members are professional musicians and pedagogues with advanced degrees, extensive training and experience.
Junior Faculty members have been with the Conservatory for less than two years but also have extensive teaching experience and credentials.
To teach at the Conservatory, both Master and Junior Faculty members undergo a rigorous selection process including interview, performance and teaching phases. Teacher preference may be requested and honored whenever possible.
