minute in length, group lessons are conducted once weekly for 14
weeks. They allow students the opportunity to learn and grow together,
in an environment which fosters comradery and cooperation, while
maintaining a strong relationship with the instructor. Repertoire
is shared and members of group classes work together to achieve
both individual and common goals. All members of the group are involved
at all times in the lesson. Any member of the group may choose to
have a Closed Concert evaluation and get a feedback from the jury
at the end of each semester. All students are encouraged to perform
in the Open Concerts, and attend Conservatory events and masterclasses.
Group lessons are available in piano, guitar, drums, violin, viola,
and cello. Free trial lesson may be requested. Payment plans are
available. Tuition for all group lessons is $280 per semester. Students
enrolled in individual or any group class receive 50% discount on
the second class enrolled.
BEGINNERS
GROUP FOR ADULTS
This
class is for adults who have always wanted to learn an instrument,
have no prior music training or for those who learned music long
ago and want to refresh their skills. The class is designed to provide
fundamental proficiency on the respective instrument in a relaxed
group environment.
BEGINNERS
GROUP LESSON FOR AGES 5-7 (PIANO)
The
objective of this course is to create a complete musician and pianist
within a fun and simulating environment of learning. Basic keyboard
concepts will be reinforced with written theory, ear training, sight
reading, technique, ensemble, rhythm drills and composition/improvisation.
Students in the group will stay together in the book ultimately
with occasional supplemental material being added to address the
varying ability levels.
BEGINNERS
GROUP LESSON FOR AGES 6-11
This
class is for students from first to fifth grades and provides an
introduction to essential music skills on the respective instrument
in a relaxed group environment. The group environment not only allows
students the benefits of their interaction with the teacher, but
also their interaction with the other students as they encourage
and assist one another in their progress.
BEGINNERS
GROUP LESSON FOR AGES 12-17
This
class is for middle and high school age students and includes basic
music reading skills. Repertoire includes easy classics and ensemble
literature.
CHAMBER
EMSEMBLE
This
class aids the Conservatory in providing a truly comprehensive musical
experience in any combination of instruments in a small group environment
from duos through quintets. Students will be introduced to the invaluable
experience of playing as members of a chamber ensemble. At least
one year prior study on student's instrument, sight-reading, and
consultation with the instructor is required. This class is open
to students of all ages.
ORCHESTRA
The
orchestra provides an opportunity for Conservatory's faculty and
students to rehearse and perform together. Students apply what they
learned in individual and group classes to an orchestral setting.
It introduces students to the techniques of instrumental performance
and necessary tools to move ahead in orchestral playing. The orchestra
is for students who can sight-read on their instruments and have
at least one-year prior study on the instrument. This class is open
to students of all ages.
GROUP
MUSIC THEORY
This course is offered to students from 4th grade to adult and allows
the opportunity to be exposed to the core of effective music education
- music theory. All fundamental aspects of musicianship, from rhythm
and note reading to ear training, using state-of-the-art software,
will be covered.
INDIVIDUAL
AND GROUP LESSON COMBINATION
This course is for students of all ages aspiring combine individual
instruction with group lesson experience. This course is comprised
of seven individual (half-hour) and seven group (one-hour) lessons.
